Yes, Tony, these gentlemen do qualify as “noir poets” a fact that I was reminded of over the past two weeks with the just-concluding ‘John Huston Blogothon’ at Icebox Movies. Huston’s most distinguished work was in noir, and his collaboration here with Burnett, on HIGH SIERRA (great dialogue there!) is a defining example of how this partnership helped to advance the form.
